Scarlett 2i2 Studio Pack includes the compact, portable Scarlett 2i2 USB audio interface, a large-diaphragm condenser microphone, closed-back headphones, XLR mic cable, USB cable, comprehensive software bundle

The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Studio Pack offers the singer-songwriter-guitarist two of the Scarlett range’s high-quality, transparent preamps and high-performance instrument DIs. The dual preamp configuration of the Scarlett 2i2 provides more flexible recording scenarios, such as recording vocals and acoustic guitar or guitar amp simultaneously, two-part vocal harmonies, stereo miking, or a stereo keyboard direct. To get you recording-ready right out of the box, the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Studio Pack includes a large-diaphragm condenser mic with XLR cable and mic clip for quality vocal recording, a pair of closed-back headphones for reduced leakage while tracking, Focusrite’s best-selling Scarlett 2i2 USB bus-powered audio interface, and a comprehensive software bundle for tracking, mixing, and plug-in processing.

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Studio Pack in one take:

  • CM25 large-diaphragm condenser mic
  • HP60 closed-back studio headphones
  • 10′ XLR mic cable and stand clip
  • Scarlett 2i2 audio interface

Scarlett CM25 large-diaphragm condenser

The CM25 is stunning, large-diaphragm condenser microphone that captures beautifully crisp and clean audio. Since it’s a well-known fact that some mics work better than others with certain preamps, Focusrite made sure that the combination of the CM25 LDC and Scarlett 2i2 preamp is a magical one, providing singers the inspiration to perform at their artistic best. The CM25 comes complete with a 10′ XLR cable and mic stand clip so that nothing stands in your way to record once your Scarlett 2i2 is set up and ready to track.

Scarlett HD60 closed-back headphones

Focusrite made sure that the included HD60 headphones were a closed-back design for a reason—well, more than one reason actually. Along with stunning playback sound, the HD60’s closed-back design reduces headphone bleed into the vocal mic, which makes vocal tracks cleaner and therefore easier to process with compression, EQ, and other effects. Also, if you choose to record a guitar amp with the mic, the noise-cancelling function of the HD60 makes it easier to hear the sound of the amp as the mic hears it, which in turn makes mic placement easier. And finally, if you’re recording direct in a noisy environment, the noise-cancelling effect of the HD60 lets you focus right (see what we did there) on your recording and mixing with less distraction.

Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 audio interface

With enhanced performance features, including sample rates up to 24-bit/192kHz, two low-noise, high-gain preamps with high-headroom instrument DIs, Focusrite’s Scarlett 2i2 is a USB-bus powered audio interface that not only lets you record anywhere the muse takes you, it also comes bundled with a suite of recording software and plug-ins that let you mix with impressive results. The Scarlett 2i2 has astonishingly low latency that lets you record and monitor with software effects in real time, and also a direct monitoring feature for zero-latency tracking that bypasses computer software.

Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 in one take:

  • Support for sample rates up to 24-bit/192kHz, class compliant on Mac
  • Upgraded instrument inputs
  • Direct monitoring eliminates latency issues
  • Comprehensive software suite included

INSIDE THE BOX- Focusrite Scarlet 2i2

The Scarlett 2i2 features a number of technical innovations that put it at the head of the class. An updated converter design provides a wide dynamic range and sample rates up to 24-bit/192kHz high-resolution audio. Thanks to its innovative driver and conversion design, Scarlett offers a round-trip latency as low as 2.74ms (depending on DAW and software settings). With Scarlett 2i2, you can work entirely in your DAW for overdubs and playback, and track in real time with plug-ins, without the need for outboard DSP, or disabling effects to save RAM when you track. Along with comfort effects, you can perform to a cue mix that sounds the way you want the final mix to sound.

To ensure a long recording life, the Scarlett 2i2 has circuitry on the inputs and outputs to protect against unwanted power surges, such as phantom power accidentally being plugged into the outputs, or shorted inputs with phantom power. The 2i2’s gain controls have an evenly distributed gain curve that makes it easier to set input levels with greater accuracy. Scarlett 2i2 is an active device, which requires a DC power source. However, the Scarlett 2i2 doesn’t require an external power supply. Power to the Scarlett 2i2 is supplied via USB by from the computer (Mac or PC).

Upgraded DI performance

The Scarlet 2i2, designed with guitarists in mind, has instrument inputs that provide an additional 8dB headroom over other designs, which lets you use guitars with the highest-output active pickups without clipping or unwanted distortion. The Scarlett 2i2 preamps are clean, transparent, and accurate, thanks to Focusrite’s 30-plus years of experience in preamp design, starting with the famed ISA modules built for Sir George Martin’s AIR studios. The Scarlett preamp has 50dB gain, which makes it very mic-friendly. (While 60-70dB gain is recommended for ribbon mics, some modern designs can perform quite well with 50dB.)

Direct monitoring eliminates latency

Even though the Scarlet 2i2 boasts an extremely low round-trip latency, actual latency can be affected by the settings of the DAW software and other factors. Turning on the front-panel Direct Monitor switch will route your input signals directly to the Scarlett 2i2’s headphone and main monitor outputs. This enables you to hear yourself perform with zero latency, i.e., in real time, along with the computer playback. The signals input to your computer are not affected in any way by this setting. Simply connect a pair of stereo headphones to the front-panel headphone jack to hear what you are recording, along with any tracks you’ve already recorded. This eliminates any latency, allowing you to focus entirely on your performance without the debilitating effects of latency.

Comprehensive software suite included

To let you compose, record, mix, and export your music right out of the box, the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 comes with time-unlimited versions of industry-standard music software, including Ableton Live Lite, Pro Tools | First, and the Focusrite Creative Pack, which features 12 additional plug-ins including the Eleven Lite for real life guitar amp emulations and Black Op for iconic distortions and overdrives. You also get Softube’s Time and Tone bundle, the Focusrite Red Plug-In Suite, Novation’s Bass Station Virtual synthesizer and 2GB of Loopmasters samples.
