Description
The Burl B2 Bomber DAC is a 2-channel, 24-bit/192kHz digital-to-audio converter with transformer input, incredibly low-jitter clocking, precision metering, and stepped attenuators
The Burl B2 Bomber DAC is a favorite among mixers and mastering engineers looking to give their clients something special. The complement of the B2 ADC, the B2 DAC gives you chest-thumping lows, a wide stereo field and a three-dimensional soundstage that gives mixes the sound and feeling of being in the room with the musicians. Both the B2 DAC and B2 ADC feature identical, incredibly low-jitter clocking, precision metering, and stepped attenuators. For a master signal chain, combine the Burl B2 DAC with the B2 ADC make your studio a force to be reckoned with.

INSIDE THE BOX—Burl Audio B2 Bomber DAC
One of the secrets of creating high-quality converters is understanding how to design analog properly, which is where Burl products shine. The result of painstaking research and development, the B2 DAC features unique class-A, discrete op-amps with passive filtering, which makes the B2 DAC ideal for monitoring. Couple this with state of the art conversion technology and the B2 BOMBER DAC delivers sonic purity and dynamics thus far unheard of.
Dante AoIP network audio option
Dante AoIP (Audio over IP) is an extremely fast, low-latency device that lets you stream 64 channels of 24-bit/48kHz audio on a single network port with a default latency of 1ms. With Dante, you can run up to 512 24-bit/48kHz audio channels on a single Gigabit network port. Plus, you can add as many audio channels to a network as you want, simply by adding more Dante-enabled Burl or other interfaces. The ultimate in scalability, Dante features automatic device discovery. To make system control more intuitive, Dante assigns easily recognized device names. Remarkably cost-effective, Dante can use existing network infrastructure to send and receive audio in a multi-room facility.
Dante Virtual Soundcard
The Dante virtual soundcard is a software application that turns your PC or Mac into a Dante-enabled device, allowing audio to be transmitted and received using the standard Ethernet port. With no additional hardware necessary, you can run multiple B2 Bombers or a B80 Mothership from a laptop or other computer via a single Ethernet jack. Not only that, but any Dante-enabled digital gear, including mixing consoles, can directly interface with the B2 Bombers and B80 Mothership.
Dante AoIP features:
- View and change the current audio sample rate
- Customize the receive latency (latency a receiving device should use before play out)
- View and set your Ethernet network interface, and view network interface details
- Start and stop the Dante Virtual Soundcard
- Select the number of audio channels available in the Dante Virtual Soundcard (CoreAudio and ASIO only)
- On Windows, you can also select ASIO or WDM mode, view and set ASIO- specific parameters
OUTSIDE THE BOX— Burl Audio B2 Bomber DAC
The front panel of the B2 DAC is a study in elegant simplicity with stepped output level attenuator allows quick selection between analog +4dBu = -18,
-16, -14, -12, -10, and -8dBfs digital headroom. Input source selects between AES1, AES2, Dante (optional), SPDIF, or TOS. In the center of the B2 DAC is a high-resolution, 30-segment meter that shows RMS level and Peak simultaneously. On the meter display is a red “lock” LED that indicates the B2 is clocking correctly. There’s also a peak reset button, clock source selector, and sample-rate select.
Rear-panel I/O include a Dante Ethernet input, two AES inputs, TOSLINK digital input, S/PDIF digital input, one word clock input, two word clock outputs, analog input trim for fine-tuning output levels, and balanced XLR outputs.
Once you hear the Burl B2 Bomber DAC in action, it will become instantly clear (like your masters) that you owe it to your clients to own one. For more information, call or chat online with your Westlake Pro Sales Consultant today.
