Triad-Orbit Unveils Precision AV Speaker Mounting System for Immersive Audio

Triad Orbit's new Precision AV Speaker Mounting System is designed specifically for the precision and accuracy demanded by Dolby ATMOS and immersive sound systems

Having been trusted with the care of priceless microphones in the world’s most iconic recording studios for years, Triad-Orbit now brings their expertise to the center stage of Immersive Audio Post Production.

We’re in the midst of designing and integrating a massive post-production facility with multiple Atmos mixing rooms, edit bays, viewing rooms, and more, and these sturdy little things are in every single room.

Let’s dive in and take a look at some of the features that make this system worthy of such ubiquity in state-of-the art Post spaces.

A Few of Our Favorite Details

Adaptive solutions
for any room

Triad-Orbit offers a wide range of components for integrating the Precision System into any space right out of the box.

From the standard SM-1 mounting bracket to truss mounts to extension poles, there’s no need to add expensive and time-consuming custom fabrication to your design and integration process.

Fitted mounts
for Popular Speakers

Mounts are available for JBL and Genelec speakers, and word on the street is that a few more speaker brands are coming soon!

Redundant
locking mechanism

Configuring a mixing room to meet the precise specifications required by Dolby Atmos is a worthwhile investment. However, it can leave some studio owners in a perpetual state of anxiety: what if someone nudges a speaker? If something gets bumped out of place, it could cost several thousand dollars to have the room re-measured.

Triad-Orbit’s Precision System features a redundant locking mechanism that keeps speakers pointing in the right direction, no matter what.

Precise Adjustments
Made Simple

To adjust pan, simply loosen the redundant locking arm on the top, pull the pin from the bottom, and swivel to your liking. Tilt is adjusted by loosening the redundant locking knob on the left side and pulling the pin from the right.

You can pan or tilt in 15-degree increments, and then lock the speaker in place.

In a Nutshell

Audio Pros have cherished the thoughtful design and sturdy construction Triad-Orbit stands and I/O components for years. (If there isn’t a saying about Twinkies and Triad-Orbit stands being the only things sure to survive an apocalypse there should be.) And here at Westlake Pro, we’ve had to fabricate more than our fair share of custom speaker mounts for Atmos systems over the years. So when Triad-Orbit asked us to try out the Precision AV Speaker Mounting System, it was a sight for sore eyes. An attention to detail and high-quality materials will make this a studio staple for the foreseeable future.
