Description
Steven Slate Trigger 2 Expansion is a next-generation drum replacement plug-in for VST, RTAS, AU, and AAX from the master of drum samples, Steven Slate
Steven Slate started out in the world of drum sample libraries combining his studio acumen with his drumming skills to create custom drum-sample CDs for drum replacement and blending with acoustic drums. Used by an elite inner circle of mixers and producers, you can say that Steven Slate knows his way around drum replacement, and if Trigger 2 is any indicator, he’s significantly raised the bar on drum replacement technology. The Trigger Expansion instrument library of high-quality, 24-bit samples contains 10 snares, 9 kick drums, and 3 sets of toms.
Slate Digital Trigger 2 Expansion in one take:
- Extremely accurate multi-layered drum replacement with up to eight layers of stereo samples, and converts audio to MIDI
- Transient-driven gate and leakage suppression
- Comes with Steven Slate Classic samples
- Expansion instrument library
Extremely accurate multi-layered drum replacement
When using Trigger, you will hear tight, phase-accurate drum triggering without unwanted miss-triggers, flamming, or phasing. Kick samples line up tightly with the original kick drums, snare drum transients align perfectly, and tom fills come out exactly like the original tracks.
Slate Digital’s Trigger 2.0 has a multi-layered triggering engine that enables you to seamlessly trigger 8 stereo samples simultaneously in one instance of the plug-in. For example, you can trigger a close-mic sample, stereo overhead sample, and stereo room mic samples. Or, you can mix many direct mic samples to develop your own custom unique sounds. This multi-channel triggering functionality lets you recreate the sound of natural drums with real multi-tracked samples.
Each sample layer has parameters for customization such as velocity, dynamic control, attack, sustain, release, and independent levels. Other features include 2 detection modes, MIDI in/out, automatic parameter detection, up to 127 different articulations per instrument, up to 127 velocity layers per instrument, up to 127 alternation hits per velocity layer, and the ability to convert audio tracks to MIDI.
Unique leakage-suppression function
The biggest problem with drum replacement is false triggers caused by mic bleed from other drums bleeding into the spot mics. To solve this problem, Trigger has the unique ability to be instructed not to be activated by certain leakages on a drum track via its Leakage Suppression mode. Using the Leakage Suppression technology you can trigger a drum track with 100% accuracy even if the drum track has loud bleed from other drums. Trigger Expansion also contains a transient-triggered gate that is the ultimate tool for cleaning up tracks with excess leakage. Trigger also comes with three latency modes, and can work with live triggering using a 4ms Live Mode.
