Blackbird is literally a working museum of the finest recording equipment and musical instruments in recording history, and the studio of choice for music’s greatest artists. In the Spring of 2014, John McBride recorded the Blackbird Drums Expansion library with drummer Chris Tyrell of Lady Antebellum for the Steven Slate Drums Trigger drum replacer. To record the Blackbird Drums Expansion Library, Steven and John used three of Blackbird’s best rooms including the chambers of Studio A, featuring a Neve 8078 console, and Studio D, outfitted with an API Legacy Plus console. Tons of vintage mics and gear, classic drum kits from an era spanning fifty years, and of course, John’s amazing engineering talent all went into recording this library. Blackbird Drums is one of the most amazing drum libraries you’ll ever experience.
