Slate Digital Virtual Preamp Collection in one take:
- FG-73 gives you the sound of the world’s most popular preamp, the 1073
- FG-76 models the tube preamp used on classic recordings by The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, and still in use today
- Virtual Drive increases the saturation effect without raising input gain
Slate Digital FG-73
The FG-73 preamp module is modeled after the Neve 1073, one of the most famous British discrete solid state preamps in the audio industry that has been used on countless recordings. The most copied preamp in both hardware and software, Slate Digital went to great pains to provide the authentic sound of the 1073. Bold, present, and warm, the FG-73 sounds great on any audio source and even full mixes.
Slate Digital FG-76
This FG76 preamp module is modeled after the Telefunken V76, considered the Rolls Royce of tube preamps. A classic vintage tube preamp, the V76 set the standard for classic recordings by The Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Pink Floyd. The FG-76 has a thick, warm, and colorful tone that can make tracks and mixes sound more alive. The bottom end saturates in a very unique and musical way, making it a great module for bass guitar and kick drum tracks
Both modules feature a virtual drive knob that replicates the effects of hitting the preamp harder for more saturation without increasing output levels. In effect, it increases amplifier input gain while automatically decreasing internal output trim, enabling you to set gain staging of the preamp easily. For most color and tone effects, the left part of the knob should be used. For more saturation and full on distortion, the virtual drive can be pushed to the right side or even fully cranked.
Use the Virtual Preamp Collection along with the other Slate Digital analog modeled tools to ensure that your mixes come to life with real analog vibe, color, and tone. For more information, call or chat with your Westlake Pro sales consultant today.
