Description
Saturation and Dynamics Processing with Tons of Attitude
Founded in 2010 in Warsaw, Poland, Looptrotter Audio has since brought to market an arsenal of high-quality outboard gear for analog saturation and dynamics processing. Using top of the line FET transistors, vacuum tubes, and discrete class A circuitry, Looptrotter’s products endow audio with a vintage analog sound and lots of attitude. Looptrotter’s founder, Andrzej Starzyk, has been obsessively designing and building audio electronics since the age of 16, and his passion for high-quality audio shines through in his company’s designs.
Looptrotter Monster Compressor 2 in one take:
- Vintage style FET compressor that adds lots of warmth, punch, and character
- Unique combination of compression and tube saturation which makes the sound seem very close and detailed
- Mix knob for easy parallel compression
- Handy “2nd boost” feature boosts the harmonics added by the tubes for more extreme processing
- Great for processing individual tracks, subgroups, or an entire mix
A True Audio Monster
The Looptrotter Monster Compressor 2 is all about making your audio sound warm, punchy and right in your face. Inspired by classic FET compressors from the 1960s, it takes their legacy a step further with even more attitude and punch. Its unique combination of compression and tube saturation makes the sound seem extremely close and detailed, a quality often sought after but hard to achieve with digital plugins. Whether you’re processing individual tracks, stereo subgroups, or a master channel, the Looptrotter Monster Compressor 2 will give your audio the analog character you crave.
Versatile Controls for Any Application
With simple to use, yet highly versatile controls, it’s easy to dial in the sound you want with the Monster Compressor 2. The compressor section has knobs for setting the attack and release speed, input and output gain, and switches to choose Limiting or Compression modes. In the tube saturation section, there is a dial for the amount of saturation and switches for true bypass and the famous “2nd boost” feature. This 2nd boost adds even more harmonics to the signal for a more noticeable tube saturation effect (which is great for extreme processing of individual tracks and subgroups). With a Mix knob in the master section, it’s easy to use parallel processing when desired.
