The Korg nanoKontrol2 Slim-Line USB Control Surface is the perfect complement to your micro studio for hands-on control of your laptop DAW or iPad music app. In an ultra slime body designed to fit comfortable in front of your laptop or iMac computer screen, it has eight channels, each with just the controls you need to control your music software easily and intuitively. The Korg nanoKONTROL2 also provides dedicated transport, USB power, and support for all major DAWs.
Korg nanoKONTROL2 Slim-Line USB Control Surface in one take:
- Low-profile, multi-function control surface
- New track select and marker advance parameters
- Supports numerous software titles including major DAW programs
DAW or soft synth control
Each of the nanoKONTROL2’s eight channels has a knob, fader, and three switches, for pan, volume, and solo/mute/record-enable respectively. The nanoKONTROL2’s configuration makes for greater convenience than any mouse when you’re recording automation for multiple channels. It also has a button for assigning marks in your song’s timeline or arrange window, which makes it easy to get around in your song’s project window. Not solely for DAW control, nanoKONTROL2 is also capable of controlling parameters for a software synthesizer. For example you could use the faders to control the ADSR of an envelope generator, and use the knobs to control the filter’s cutoff frequency and resonance, etc.
Korg Kontrol Editor software
The nanoKONTROL2 can work in conjunction with Korg Kontrol Editor software, which is available as a free download on the Korg website. Once loaded into your computer, you can use it to make in-depth, custom settings, such as setting minimum and maximum values for each control change message.
USB power for a clean setup
All you need to get up and running is one simple USB cable to connect the nanoKONTROL2 to your computer, and a music production system that can travel anywhere with you is yours to command. Both power and bi-directional MIDI data are transmitted via USB, which makes setup as easy as it gets.
Apple iPad Compatibility
Korg nanoSERIES2 controllers, which includes the nanoKEY2, nanoPAD2, and nanoKONTROL2 are compatible with iPad via the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit, providing MIDI control using the Apple Core MIDI features. Apple iOS 4.2.1 is supported, and the app needs to support Core MIDI. If you are using multiple nanoSERIES2 controllers, or plan to use a single nanoSERIES2 for an extended period of time, a powered USB hub is recommended.
