Earthworks DK7 Drum FullKit™ - Microphone Kit for Full Drum Set

Premium condenser microphone drum kit for capturing your full drum set

Special 12-Month No-Interest Financing.

The DK7 Drum FullKit System is Earthworks seven-mic audiophile solution for miking a full drum kit, comprising four DM20 rim-mounted tom/snare mics, two SR25 omni condenser mics for overheads, and one SR20LS, a low-sensitivity cardioid condenser uniquely designed for kick drum

A departure from Earthworks’ minimalist audiophile drum-miking kits, the DK7 is a seven-microphone system for engineers who want control of the entire drum set. With four DM20 rim-mounted tom and snare mics for spot-miking the top of a fusion kit, two SR25 omni condensers for overheads, and the unique SR20LS a specially engineered, low-sensitivity mic for kick drum. Like Earthworks’ other drum kits, the DK7 is for those who like to get it right going in, capturing a detailed, natural sound that gives the impression that you’re sitting behind the kit, either in the studio or onstage. The exceptional performance of the DK7 mics is the result of several proprietary technologies innovated by David Blackmer, the genius behind Earthworks and formerly dbx.

Earthworks DK7 Drum FullKit in one take:

  • Improved impulse response for faster and more accurate transients
  • Shorter diaphragm settling time to prevent quieter attacks from being blurred by earlier loud attacks
  • Extended frequency response to 25 kHz to capture a crisper and more realistic image
  • Near perfect polar patterns that remain even across all frequencies and at any position within the pattern
  • More cohesive and unified drum sound
  • Hear more attack and subtle detail
  • Increased detail and dynamic range
  • Versatile, multi-use mics
  • Mics are protected in a high impact case
  • Fast setup and tear-down

DM20 tom and snare close mic

The DM20’s near-perfect cardioid polar pattern is consistent across all frequencies, simplifying mic placement, virtually eliminating phasing issues and ensuring more gain before feedback. Its transient response is lightning fast, handling sharp attacks with ease, while still picking up all of the subtle nuances and softest dynamics of your playing. Capable of withstanding a stray stick hit, the DM20 DrumMic removes the worry of close miking toms and snare. Its right-angle microphone head lets you easily and precisely position the microphone to get the best drum sound. Featuring a stiff yet flexible gooseneck, the microphone will stay put once you have found its sweet spot. And with SPL-handling up to 150dB, even the loudest drummer cannot overload the DM20 DrumMic.

Included with the DM20 is an RM1 RimMount™ for mounting the microphone directly on the rim of a snare or toms, eliminating the need for mic stands. Plus, save time on setup and tear-down by storing the DM20 with the RM1 still attached in its carrying case.

SR25 omni condenser overhead mic

The Earthworks SR25 is a directional pre-polarized condenser microphone with a first-order cardioid pickup pattern directly coupled to a dedicated wide-band, low output impedance transformerless preamplifier. It features a fast impulse response, very low handling noise, uniform polar pattern, and high SPL handling capabilities. The SR25 also provides excellent uncolored rejection of sounds arriving off-axis and a transparent sonic character with an even 50Hz – 25kHz frequency response. Its near-perfect cardioid polar pattern is consistent across all frequencies, simplifying mic placement and ensuring more gain before feedback, which makes it a very capable mic for live sound reinforcement.

SR20LS kick drum mic

The SR20LS is a low-sensitivity version of the SR20 cardioid condenser. With 150dB SPL-handling and low input sensitivity, the precision-engineered SR20LS can handle kick drums without the need for the Earthworks KP1 KickPad attenuator/EQ. It features the same lighting-fast impulse response and settling time of the SR20. It also has the patented, near-perfect polar response particular to Earthworks mics, along with 32dB rear reject. If you want a natural sounding, resonant kick drum with attack for days, this is your mic.

If you’ve been looking for a full drum kit miking solution with a realistic sound like none other, you’ve found it in the Earthworks DK7 Drum FullKit. For more information, call or chat online with your Westlake Pro Sales Consultant.
