Meet the Prophet X
The Prophet X fuses high-quality samples and Sequential’s legendary approach to synthesis. When combined with its intuitive interface, the Prophet X is a versatile instrument perfect for the stage, studio, composers, and sound designers. Tying it all together are a wealth of onboard analog filters which allow you to color, shape, and tweak your sounds.
The 150 GB sample library in the Prophet X includes numerous acoustic and electronic instruments as well as an extensive collection of ambient and cinematic effects. Users can shape the samples through loop manipulation, sample stretching, and the synthesizer’s many sound-sculpting functions which include 4 envelope generators, 4 LFOs, a deep modulation matrix, and other tools.
An additional 50 gigabytes of internal storage is available for importing additional samples. Several additional sample libraries are also available from 8Dio. On top of this, the Prophet X now supports user samples, opening up endless opportunities to explore new and creative sounds. A dual-effects engine provides multiple reverbs, two delays (standard and BBD), a chorus, flanger, phase shifter, rotating speaker, high-pass filter, and distortion. In stacked or split voice mode, you can apply two different effects to each layer. Effects parameters can be modulated through the mod matrix as can the samples themselves. A polyphonic step sequencer allows up to 64 steps and up to 6 notes per step, per layer. The Prophet X features a premium-quality, five-octave, semi-weighted keyboard with velocity and channel aftertouch, an integrated power supply, USB support, and three OLED displays.
Any Way You Play It
Voice count is assignable based on your playing style, making the Prophet X excellent in any scenario. Use 8 stereo voices for gorgeous width and realism. Switching sample playback to mono allows you to access a whopping 16 voices. Both of these modes feature a discrete analog filter per voice, for true sonic fidelity. The latest update opens even more voices with the 32-voice Performance Mode. This features paraphonic filter operation for a single sampled instrument and oscillator.
