Description
The ADAM Sub10 MK2 is a 200-watt subwoofer with a special 10″ driver with extended cone travel and heavy-duty coil optimized for accurate reproduction
When it comes to reproducing bass frequencies with nearfield monitors, the laws of physics rears its inconvenient head. And while we’ve come a long and surprising way with bass extension on small drivers and cabinets, though you may bend the law a little, you can’t break it. Well, there’s a new sheriff in town, and it’s name is ADAM, ADAM Sub10 MK2. Today’s music often depends on what’s happening in the sub frequencies, below 40Hz. One solution is simply to filter everything below 30-40Hz, but filters extend farther up the range. And before we start chopping up our low end, wouldn’t it be nice to know what’s going on down there before we take a knife to it and start cutting. The ADAM Sub10 MK2 provides a clear picture down 25Hz.
ADAM Sub 10 MK2 powered subwoofer in one take:
- 10″ subwoofer (paper)
- Amplifier power RMS/Music: 200W/300W
- Frequency response: 25Hz – 150Hz
- peak SPL at 1 m: ≥113dB
ADAM low-frequency driver
With accuracy being the order of the day, ADAM designed a special woofer for the Sub10 M2 that features extended cone travel and a heavy-duty coil, optimized for a bass reflex enclosure. The Sub10 has a front-firing woofer with a down-firing bass reflex tube to avoid intrusive ventilation noise because of its large size and shape. The Sub10 MK2 subwoofer provides a precise combination of low cutoff frequency (-3dB at 25Hz) and undistorted high SPL (113dB at 1m).
Efficient PWM amplifier
The PWM amplifier produces over 90% efficiency and can handle critical passages without overheating for long periods of time. An additional output allows you to cascade as many subwoofers as needed.
Sub10 controls and I/O
The left and right line-level signal from your audio source can be connected to either the left/right balanced XLR inputs or unbalanced RCA inputs. The Sub10 MK2 has Left and Right Satellite Out jacks which connect to the inputs of the left and right main powered speakers or power amps for the main speakers. The Sub10 MK2 has a phase switch that enables you correct phase in relation to the mains. The rear panel also has a balanced XLR sub out that mirrors the input signal, which allows you to daisy chain as many Sub10s as you need. The Sub Level control lets you control the volume of all the subs at once. The satellites can be driven full range or with a 85Hz high pass.
The Sub10 M2 controls includes Sub Level, which controls the Input Sensitivity from -60dB to +6dB. It also has a Sub Filter control that adjusts the upper frequency limit, which is variable between 50Hz to 150Hz
The Sub10 MK2 is a powerful subwoofer designed to accurately extend the low-frequency capabilities of any near- or midfield monitoring system down to 25Hz. To incorporate an ADAM Sub10 MK2 into your system, call or chat online with your Westlake Pro Sales Consultant today.
